To determine the trailer's capacity, first find the trailer's Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) on its data plate or on our product description. That is the maximum safe weight for the LOADED trailer.
Next, calculate the payload capacity by subtracting the trailer's empty (curb) weight from its GVWR. This is how much you can actually load on the trailer safely, which ensures safety and legal compliance.
Keep in mind that the tow vehicle needs to be rated for the total GVWR of the trailer as well.
